BIOGRAPHY

GAVIN PATTON
Gavin Patton is a filmmaker from Derry city, Ireland. He has been making films about addiction since 2002, a subject he knows personally.
Gavin started the Revolutionary Derry Civil Rights project in 2015 by interviewing Ivan Cooper. To date, he has recorded over 40 hours of material and interviews regarding this period. Unsatisfied with the brief time allotted to important figures of the Civil Rights Movement in TV documentaries and news items, Gavin decided to film long-form interviews with key members of the movement so they could tell their full story, and thus save it for history. Gavin believes that this is why the project is so important and why it is unique.
